Channing Steward
My name is Channing Royce steward I was born February 14, 1994 to a single parent by the name of Avery Michelle Steward. I was born in Dallas, TX and raised in Mansfield, Texas for most of my life. These cities would inspire me to achieve and do great things in life. I am a currently a business management student at Texas Southern University.
I am a recent graduate of Mansfield Legacy High School where I played football for four years. I am an aspiring entrepreneur who plans to be on the Fortune 500 list one day, I am pursuing a career in business, because as a kid there was enormous inspiration and support around me that I could be a business owner or anything I wanted to be one day because " You only have one life so stop complaining and make shit happen". The talent that surrounded me as a kid was enormous. The lessons I learned from my family would shape me into the person I am today. My family was full of men and women, who made the wrong choices that caused them not to reach their full potential. As a young kid I listened to my mentors and took their experiences to heart so I decided at a young age that, I was going to be the one to make my name and family something to be great and forever remembered. The first glimpse I and my teachers had that I would most likely be a future entrepreneur was, when Halloween came around instead of stuffing my face with candy till my teeth fell out. I would sell my candy back to all my friends so as a kid you could say I always had a little change in my wallet and I was semi independent.
As senior in high school about to embark on a journey to becoming a man, I decided to take a entrepreneurship class that would help me get a good glimpse of what was ahead for me in life, but while in that class I found the inspiration to attempt starting my own business making t-shirts my first customer was a friend of mine, whom I played football with, I made him a jersey shore t-shirt because the show was very popular at the time. I sold my first t-shirt for fifteen dollars and made a twelve dollar profit so for my first sale, I think I did pretty good for an amateur. Later on that year another one of my friends handed me a CD for his rap group which I listened to and we got to talking and he ended up asking me to make t-shirts for him, and I lost tons of money, because I got in over my head and took on more than I could handle. I gave my dreams a break until I could learn more about what I needed to be successful. I am in college seeking more knowledge so that in the near future I will be successful the second time around. One thing I will always remember is something Bill Gates said " Success is a lousy teacher because it makes smart people thing the have arrived"
"Don't be arfraid to give up the great in order to go for the great" John D. Rockefeller
